Hi! I’m Rachel, and this is my blog. Welcome. I recently finished grad school, and I’m from Michigan. When I’m not dutifully updating this blog, I’m probably knitting, cooking (gluten/dairy free!), riding my bicycle, reading, or outside enjoying the world. Please feel free to ask anything, but know that this is the internet, you might not actually know me, and I have a right to keep things private.
A little bit about me: I’ve lived in Michigan (in the same city, even!) for my entire life, except for the 4 years I went to college less than an hour away, the 5 months I lived in Bilbao, Spain in 2008 and the 3 months I lived in Brooklyn in 2012. I
am was desperate to find a job somewhere outside of Michigan. I love having my family nearby, but it’s time for a change.
I graduated from Albion College in 2009 and did AmeriCorps for two years. The money I earned from the education award helped me pay for graduate school, and I gained more professional and personal experience from those two years than I did in a 4 year degree program. I cannot recommend it enough. I was lost and unsure of what to do, and AmeriCorps was right for me (it’s a little hard to pay rent, but it ended up being OK).
As of February 7, 2014, I live in Daegu, South Korea. I am an English teacher and I am SO excited to begin this Korean adventure. This blog is mostly a chronicle of that adventure.
I like to binge watch TV shows, drink coffee, cook, read, snuggle, bike, be outside, and generally just be around people I love. Thank you for stopping by!
